The Ascension of Our Lord, which occurred 40 days after Jesus Christ rose from the dead on Easter, is the final act of our redemption that Christ began on Good Friday. On this day, the risen Christ, in the sight of His apostles, ascended bodily into Heaven. Christ's bodily Ascension foreshadows our own entrance into Heaven not simply as souls, after our death, but as glorified bodies, after the resurrection of the dead at the Final Judgment.
Next Sunday is Pentecost Sunday -- our parish feast day and when Espiritu Santo Catholic Church celebrates the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Please join us in the Parish Center after all Masses next Saturday evening and Sunday for celebration receptions.
Come meet some faithful Catholics who love the Lord and would consider it a privilege to get to know you. Our parish will soon begin a set of sessions to share with others the truths of the Catholic faith and the fellowship of our Church Family. We invite you to learn what Catholics believe in an open and welcoming environment.
Since 2008, Espiritu Santo has been partnering with other Catholic and non-Catholic faith communities to provide support to the residents of the Pinellas Hope emergency shelter for the homeless. To keep this outreach ministry operating, we need your prayers and financial support.

The Diocese of St. Petersburg, and most dioceses in the United States and other parts of the Catholic world, celebrate the Feast of the Ascension on the Sunday before Pentecost, not on a Thursday. This allows more of the faithful to have the opportunity to participate in the celebration of this great feast.
The Men of Espiritu Santo (MOES) are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year and will be sponsoring and supporting these receptions with the Youth Group assisting.
You are invited to attend the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Information sessions that will be held at 9:30 am in the John Bosco Center on Sunday June 24th; Sunday July 22nd; or Sunday August 19th.
Your tax deductible donation can be made by check at the Parish Office or in the Offertory Collection by marking "FBO Pinellas Hope" or donate by credit card here.

"This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven." - Acts 1:11 How strong is your faith? Do you believe that Jesus will return? In the Gospel Jesus tells us that He will return and when He does He will separate us into sheep and goats, depending on how much we used our blessings to help those in need. So how strong is your faith? The answer can be found in how much you give.
