Altar Servers
Those who have received First Holy Communion and are in the 4th grade
or above are eligible to become altar servers. Workshops are held on
four Sundays in the Fall to prepare and train those interested. Altar
Servers serve every three weeks and for special needs (weddings, Holy
Days, Confirmation, etc.).
Extraordinary Ministers
of the
Eucharist (EME)
Extraordinary Ministers welcome each member of the Body of Christ as
a brother or sister in the Lord and make the moment of communion both
personal and communal. Ministers serve at ONE of the weekend Masses,
and are scheduled to serve every third week. They also serve on Holydays
and at special liturgies. Those who can commit to weekday Masses assist
with both the bread and the cup. Training sessions are held in Spring
and Fall.
Family Liturgy Committee
The Family Liturgy Committee helps plan and organize liturgies for the
8:30 a.m. Family Mass. They use Church resources and purchase or create
handouts and activities for the children's Christmas Eve play and other
special events. Members attend the 8:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. They meet
on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.
Intercessions Committee
Before each meeting, members reflect privately on the Scriptures for
the upcoming Sunday. One member of the group composes intercessions
keeping in mind the Scripture Readings as well as the needs of our world.
These intercessions are then discussed, revised and finalized at the
weekly meeting which is held at a time determined by the group in the
Church Office.
Lectors
Lectors are those men and women who proclaim God's Word at weekday and
weekend Masses. Acceptance into the program is followed by a series
of five workshops. After commissioning, lectors read 3 or 4 times in
a nine week period at weekend Masses, and when available, at daily Mass.
