Special Intentions

Mass Cards and Intentions can be arranged by coming to the Church Office during business hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm). Since announced (at Mass) intentions are reserved rapidly, consider the following alternatives as memorials and for intentions:

  • Votive Candles are available in the Holy Family Alcove for personal intentions. Donations are $5.00 for a large candle (five day) and $1.00 for a small candle.
  • Flowers can be placed on the Altar in memory of someone or to celebrate a special occasion anytime, except during Advent or Lent, for a $75.00 donation.
  • Altar Bread and Wine: a donation toward a week’s use of altar bread and wine at Mass can be given in memory of someone or to celebrate a special occasion. Please stop by the Church Office.
  • The Sanctuary Candle can be lit for a week in memory of or in honor of someone or to celebrate a special occasion. Please stop by the Church Office.
  • The Remembrance Tree is located in the narthex. Leaves for the tree can provide a long lasting tribute in memory of someone or for a special occasion. Traditions

May Crowning to honor Mary, the Mother of God, is held in May.  
Easter Food Blessing is held on Holy Saturday following Morning Prayer.
Pet Blessing is held in October near St. Francis’ feast day.

Devotionals

Liturgy of the Hours (Morning Prayer) is prayed Monday through Saturday at 9:00 am in the Chapel following 8:30 am Mass.
The Rosary is prayed Monday through Saturday at 8:00 am in the Chapel.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is available on the first Friday of every month from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm with Benediction at 2:00 pm. 
Parish Vocations Committee Holy Hour with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on first Friday from 9:30 am -10:30 am. Call the Church Office at 727.726.8477, for more information about PVC.
A Miraculous Medal Novena, a special devotional to the Blessed Mother, is prayed after all Monday Masses.  
Chaplet of Divine Mercy and a Rosary is prayed on Thursday at 6:30 pm.
Visitations with Jesus invites parishioners to spend one hour on a regular basis in the chapel with our Eucharistic Lord. All are welcome to sign up and choose an hour weekly, biweekly or monthly. Adoration hours are on Monday through Friday from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm each day. The goal is to always have someone at prayer throughout the day. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone wanting quiet time for prayer or for families to share time together with our Lord. For more information, contact the Church Office, 727.726.8477.
The Prayer Community is a charismatic prayer community which meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday of the month for praise and worship of the Lord, from 7:15 pm – 9:15 pm in the Parish Chapel. They pray for the parish community and for individual and worldwide needs. Each week there is a teaching and a time to share. For more information call Laurie Brower at 727.797.3760. 
The Way of the Cross (aka Stations) is prayed on Fridays during Lent at 5:00 pm. 
Parish Intention Book located in the narthex of the church, invites parishioners to write petition requests. The intention book is remembered during the intercessions, allowing the entire parish community to join in the prayer for those intentions.

Anointing of the Sick

Communal celebrations are held twice a year for children and adults with serious or chronic physical or emotional health problems and for older adults. This communal gathering emphasizes the fact that we are a community sharing and praying together.

Holy Matrimony

Confirmation

First Holy Communion

Baptism

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Saturday: after 8:30 am Mass and at 3:00 pm before Vigil Mass.  Communal services are held during Advent and Lent (before Holy Week). Children celebrate First Reconciliation as part of their preparation for First Communion.

Special Masses

Holy Day Masses are celebrated with special schedules.  Watch Upcoming Events.
Civic Holiday Masses are celebrated at 8:30 am on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Veterans’ Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving, those who attend are encouraged to bring a food item that will be part of their Thanksgiving dinner to be blessed at Mass.
A Mass for the Sick and Homebound is celebrated on the second Thursday of every month for those sick and homebound parishioners who are unable to attend Mass regularly. A luncheon and entertainment follow the Mass. Twice a year this Mass includes an Anointing of the Sick. This Mass is for those who are seriously ill at the time, those who are temporarily ill due to major surgery or other convalescent illness, regardless of age, those who are emotionally troubled, regardless of age, those whose health is seriously impaired by illness or advanced age, and seriously ill children.
A Mass of Remembrance is celebrated in November for the deceased relatives and friends of our parishioners. It supports all those who have lost a loved one during the year. Call the Parish Office at 727.726.8477 for information about how to have your loved ones’ names announced and for the date and time of the Mass.
Chrism Mass is celebrated on Tuesday during Holy Week at the Cathedral of St. Jude. At this Mass the priests of the diocese renew their commitment to priestly service and the holy oils to be used throughout the year in Baptism, Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick and Ordination are blessed. All are invited.
Red Mass is an annual Mass sponsored by the diocese for lawyers and their spouses.
White Mass is an annual Mass sponsored by the diocese for health care professionals and their spouses.
